Dr. Shen was raised in Gaithersburg, MD, and received a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering from MIT before switching gears to pursue a career in medicine.

She attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her Pediatric residency training at Temple University-St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.

She has been married to her husband, Richard, a pilot for Southwest Airlines, for over 7 years and has a pre-school son, Sean.

Her pediatric interests include endocrinology and development. She also enjoys singing with the Cathedral Choral Society.
